The SKKN vs SKN by LH controversy : It’s a skincare war ya’ll. If you don’t know, Kim Kardashian is launching her skincare collection named SKKN on June 21st. The line is “born out of Kim’s dream to bridge the gap between the world’s most renowned dermatological experts and people at home seeking high-performance skincare”. Meanwhile, Lori Harvey launched her skincare line SKN by LH back in October 2021. Lori’s skincare line proposes to not only be clean, vegan and cruelty free but also has no parabens, no sulfates, no silicones, no synthetic fragrance, no animal by-products and no petrolatums. The best part for us KISS enthusiasts is that the line promotes a five (5) step regimen that is easy and effortless. The system Lori’s 5 Step System retails for $195 or 4 interest-free payments of $48.75 with buy now, pay later options. The drama is that Lori Harvey fans are accusing Kim of stealing the likeness of Lori’s skincare line. This isn’t the first time Kim has had issues revolving the SKKN brand. To add more controversy a smaller New York based black-owned skincare brand named SKKN+ established in 2018 ordered a cease and desist for similar reasons. When will it end Kim?

Old Navy…why you doing plus-size women like this?: Last August, Old Navy unveiled a new size-inclusive, equal price campaign called ‘BODEQUALITY’. They were supposed to offer a fully integrated shopping experience in store and online and TikTokers @mightymurphinfash and @itsmaryfan noticed that not only were the stores not supplied with size-inclusive clothing but Old Navy later went on to say that they would be removing inclusive sizing in 75 stores . TikToker @mightmurphinfash took it upon herself to create a spreadsheet to fact check by calling different Old Navy stores in varying states to verify the validity of Old Navy’s claims. We’ll Old Navy must have gotten word of this spreadsheet, because reportedly the website was updated within a few days if not hours after the TikTokers viral post. I recap what I had heard and my experience with shopping as a plus-size woman in 2022 in my latest Instagram post.
